Training & Education Succession Planning in Siberia for Get into Rugby – Europe
06/12/2014 - 28/01/2015
As part of the week of Russian regional Get into Rugby launches in Moscow Region & Krasnoyarsk (Siberia), an Education Course was also organised at the home of the Russian Champions, Enisei STM.
This was held to assist Krasnoyarsk with its resource infrastructure, in order to support the strategies of growing the Game in the region. 10 potential Educators attended the course on 2nd-5th December and were facilitated by Trainers; Vlad Tyurin (Russia), Douglas Langley (World Rugby) and Trainee Trainers Nikolay Vatoskin (Russia) & Jose Gorrotxategui (Rugby Europe). On the final day of the course, the trainee Educators had the chance to practise their new found skills delivering a Rugby Ready course to local coaches & match officials. They had in turn 30+ local players to practise coaching and match officiating on.
Those that receive their Educator license will be able to deliver relevant World Rugby/Rugby Europe Level 1 & 2 courses for coaches or match officials in Russia. Those that are deemed not yet competent as Educators will have a further chance(s) post course, to be observed co-delivering in the role on their journey towards competency.
Many thanks must go to the Trainers for their hard work in facilitating the course and Victor Sidorenko (Regional Development Officer - Siberia) for organising the course as well as Rugby Union of Russia’s VP Howard Thomas, who coordinated the course as part of this technical & development week in Russia.
