





“Ireland, Netherlands & Wales in contention for Women’s Sevens World Series

22-23 August sees Ireland host the qualification tournament for World Rugby’s Women’s Sevens World Series 2015-16. 2 teams from the tournament will qualify from the 12 participants. Europe has 3 contenders which sees Wales in Pool A face Rio 2016 hosts Brazil along with Japan & Samoa.
Pool B sees the Netherlands alongside China, Kenya & Colombia whilst hosts Ireland will face South Africa, Hong Kong & Mexico. The 2 top ranked teams from the Tournament will then claim their place in the WSWS as a core team and compete in all series events in 2015-16. Rugby Europe of course wishes the 3 European representatives the best of luck and hopes that they can join Europe’s other core teams next season; England, France, Russia & Spain. The first match is at 11.00hrs (12.00hrs CET) and the Netherlands kick-off Europe at 11.22hrs (12.22hrs CET) versus Colombia. The event will stream live online with fans able to log on to irishrugby.ie where they can watch all the action from the UCD Bowl
